A gearbox, also known as transmission, is a mechanical component that helps to transfer power from the engine to the wheels by using different gear ratios. Its primary role is to churn out the right amount of power and torque to the wheels at different speeds to achieve optimal performance and mileage.

A clutch and pressure plate are components commonly found in vehicles with manual transmissions. They work together to engage and disengage the power transfer between the engine and the transmission, allowing the driver to change gears and control the vehicle’s movement. When the clutch pedal is pressed, the clutch disengages, separating the engine’s power from the transmission. This allows the driver to shift gears without the transmission being affected by the engine’s rotation.

Brake linings are composed of a relatively soft but tough and heat-resistant material with a high coefficient of dynamic friction typically mounted to a solid metal backing using high-temperature adhesives or rivets. Since the lining is the portion of the braking system which converts the vehicle’s kinetic energy into heat, the lining must be capable of surviving high temperatures without excessive wear.

A piston and rings are integral components of an internal combustion engine. They work together to create a sealed combustion chamber, transfer force from expanding gases to the crankshaft, and maintain efficient engine performance. A piston is is typically made of aluminium alloy. The piston is connected to the connecting rod, which in turn connects to the crankshaft. When the fuel-air mixture ignites within the combustion chamber, the expanding gases push the piston downward, converting the pressure into rotational motion.

Cummins Parts refer to the components, spare parts, and accessories specifically designed and manufactured by Cummins Inc., a leading global provider of power solutions. Cummins is renowned for its engines, power generators, and related products used in various applications, including automotive, industrial, marine, and power generation.

A water pump is a mechanical device used to circulate coolant or water through the cooling system of an engine or other machinery. Its primary function is to maintain the optimal operating temperature of the engine by removing excess heat. Water pump is typically connected to the engine’s crankshaft via a pulley and belt or, in some modern vehicles, through a direct drive mechanism. As the engine runs, the water pump rotates, creating a centrifugal force that propels the coolant or water through the engine block and cylinder heads.

A brake system is a mechanical or hydraulic system designed to slow down or stop the motion of a vehicle. It is a crucial safety component in automobiles. The primary function of a brake system is to convert the kinetic energy of the moving vehicle into heat energy, dissipating it through friction and ultimately bringing the vehicle to a controlled stop. When the brake pedal is pressed, the master cylinder forces brake fluid through the brake lines to the brake calipers or wheel cylinders. This hydraulic pressure causes the brake pads or shoes to make contact with the brake rotors or drums, creating friction and generating the necessary stopping force.

Power steering is a system in a vehicle that helps the driver steer the wheels with less effort. It uses hydraulic or electric power to assist in turning the steering wheel, particularly at low speeds or when making tight manoeuvres. The purpose of power steering is to reduce the physical effort required by the driver to turn the wheels, making it easier to control the vehicle. In hydraulic power steering systems, a pump driven by the engine pressurizes hydraulic fluid, which is then sent to a power steering gearbox or rack-and-pinion assembly. The hydraulic pressure assists the driver’s steering input, making it easier to turn the wheels.

In any vehicle electrical parts play an important role. Auto Electrical components consists of Head Light, Bulb, Fuses, Wiring Harness, Wiper Motor, Sensors, ECU, Tail Light etc. Electrical systems are crucial for powering various devices. Automotive electric system used in vehicles, including engine management, ignition, radio, carputers, telematics, in-car entertainment systems, and others. Ignition, engine and transmission electronics are also found in trucks, motorcycles, off-road vehicles, and other internal combustion powered machinery such as forklifts, tractors and excavators. Related elements for control of relevant electrical systems are also found on hybrid vehicles and electric cars.

Bearings are mechanical components that are used to reduce friction and enable smooth rotation or linear motion between two moving parts. They are designed to support and guide the movement of a shaft or axle in a machine or mechanism. Most bearings facilitate the desired motion by minimizing friction. Bearings are classified broadly according to the type of operation, the motions allowed, or to the directions of the loads (forces) applied to the parts. A wide variety of bearing designs exists to allow the demands of the application to be correctly met for maximum efficiency, reliability, durability and performance.

Filters, in the context of engineering and technology, are devices or components used to remove or separate unwanted elements from a mixture. The primary purpose of a filter is to selectively allow particles to pass through while attenuating or blocking others. Filters are designed based on specific characteristics and requirements, depending on the application and the type of unwanted elements to be filtered.

Starter: The starter is responsible for initiating the engine’s combustion process. When you turn the ignition key, it sends an electrical signal to the starter motor, which then cranks the engine over, allowing it to start. The starter motor is connected to the engine’s flywheel or flex plate and uses its electric power to rotate the engine until it can run on its own. Once the engine starts, the starter disengages, and the engine takes over the power generation.

Alternator: The alternator is an essential component of a vehicle’s charging system. It generates electricity and recharges the battery while the engine is running. The alternator converts mechanical energy from the engine into electrical energy, supplying power to the vehicle’s electrical systems and charging the battery. It ensures that the battery remains charged and provides electricity for the operation of various components, such as lights, radio, and other electrical devices, even when the engine is running at low speeds or idling.
